"Carnie" and "May"
My life would not be the same without a Jack Russell in it, it’s a breed I have always loved and I am sure always will. I had admired Jack’s at horse shows all through my childhood and when My youngest son Wyatt was 7 we got him a little Jack Russell that he named Carnage, snot the most girly name for a cute little Jack but Carnage or “Carnie” it was. We raised a few litters of Jacks and it became quite clear that the little dog that we got for Wyatt was more his mom Leah’s dog then his own.
We had a chance to breed Carnage to a Parsons Jack Russell that had come from England and this is how we got Mayhem (What is Carnage without a little Mayhem right?!?!) Right almost from the day she was born, May was Wyatt’s dog, she loved everything about this crazy kid, they both moved about the same speed, both were never indoor, and both just lived in the moment. They both still do sort of live in the moment, Wyatt and Mayhem have grown up together and they have that relationship you hope every kid has with a dog, the on that teaches them kindness, compassion, how to love and live in the moment. That is exactly what this mother daughter duo has done in our family.
I am attaching a video that Wyatt and his friend did a couple years ago, it is just a couple of boys having fun and loyal little dog in on the action.
Both Carnie and May are now spayed, and just enjoy being puppy socializers, and hanging out with the family.
We believe all animals need to be raised in a loving, healthy and ethical environment meeting higher then the minimum standards, because honestly minimum is not good enough. Not having a regulated pet industry doesn't make sense (I’d like to see it come to a point where they are inspected and tracked very closely) This is the only way that there will be an end to unethical breeding practices and the shutting down of puppy mills. I would encourage you to contact Ministry or Agriculture via email ARG.Minister@gov.bc.ca and request better regulations for the pet industry in British Columbia. Also, if you believe that you have been in contact with a breeder who is not breeding ethically or is a puppy mill do not hesitate to contact your local SPCA, they would much rather find out you were wrong, then not be contacted and have puppies in distress. Also if a person is an good breeder they will not have an issue showing their animals or animal raising practices to anyone.
