Our Dogs

We love our dogs!  We have Boston Terriers. Boxers and just to add a little variety to the crew Brownie my most loyal tractor driving assistant, and Naked Ned a Chinese Crested he may not look like your average farm dog, but he is all top-notch ranch helper!

 Our Doggy Day
Morning,
It kind of depends on who gets up at what time and what they  days plans are.  Our dogs are active so we option of  feed choice of all day long and fresh cleaned  daily water is always  available.

The Dogs depending on who is on cattle and pony  check  go out check  and makes sure all the cattle ponies and horses are happy and healthy.  Everyone here seems to have a small group of dogs that are very loyal to them.

The Wolfie walk AM: This always starts 8 am although when it starts for get light out earlier the walks seem to get earlier and earlier each day we call it the Wolfie walk as they are the are the ones who seem to us know how long it should be, it is always at least an hour and is usually 2 hours.   They  are always off leash and we have 460 acres to explore, ponds, hills, forests, open areas and the much loved creek. Giving our dogs such a long walk our dogs have an excellent recall, I credit this to our Jack Russell's being the oldest of our dogs here and they grew up in Argi-tourism. They have taught all our dogs to come when called.  Even older dogs and pups that have had join us having now are all amazing recall.

Throughout the day we have various projects around the ranch and we always have dogs around.  We do have an exception the dogs being around and ranching.  when we are sorting cattle.  We do not have any dogs that are helpful.

Our jobs take 5 times as long as they should, because we have to play a game of fetch or give belly rubs and cuddles.

We do a second long walk in the evening it is usually not as long but still generally over an hour long, the dogs are ready to relax for the evening.

The dogs all get a special bedtime snack, most are off to bed with special human they love the most, or a new workaway they like to hang out with

We are happy to have people come out and visit us on our ranch, see the animals and walk with us and our dogs.  We do have one request, you have to leave your dogs at home.  We like to make 100% sure that our dogs are around healthy vaccinated dogs only and by not allowing dogs we can not be 100% sure are healthy is our way of ensure that you receive a healthy happy puppy.

We believe all animals need to be raised in a loving, healthy and ethical environment meeting higher then the minimum standards, because honestly minimum is not good enough. Not having a  regulated pet industry doesn't make sense (I’d like to see it come to a point where they are inspected and tracked very closely) This is the only way that there will be an end to unethical breeding practices and the shutting down of puppy mills.  I would encourage you to contact Ministry or Agriculture via email ARG.Minister@gov.bc.ca and request better regulations for the pet industry in British Columbia.   Also, if you believe that you have been in contact with a breeder who is not breeding ethically or is a puppy mill do not hesitate to contact your local SPCA, they would much rather find out you were wrong, then not be contacted and have puppies in distress.   Also if a person is an good breeder they will not have an issue showing their animals or animal raising practices to anyone.
